Getting Started

When you first open AI Insights, you'll see three controls at the top of the page:

  1. Store Location — Select which store to analyze from the dropdown.
  2. Select Date Range — Choose a date range using quick presets (Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, This Year, Last Year) or pick a Custom Range.
  3. Go — Click to load the insights for your selected store and date range.

Once you click Go, four insight tabs appear below the filters:

  • Item Insights
  • Promotion Insights
  • Market Basket Insights
  • Fuel

1. Item Insights

The Item Insights tab displays your store's item performance in a three-column layout:

Column What It Shows
Top Selling (green header) Your best-performing items ranked by quantity sold, with item name, department, UPC, quantity, and dollar sales.
Low Selling (orange header) Items with minimal sales during the selected period — useful for identifying slow movers.
No Sales (red header) Items in your inventory that had zero transactions — candidates for return or discontinuation.

Fetch Count

In the top-right corner, a Fetch count field (default: 10) lets you adjust how many items appear in each column. Increase the number and click the arrow button to see more items.

AI Suggestions

Below the three columns, an AI Suggestions card provides two automatically generated recommendations:

  • Order more — Suggests restocking your top-selling items.
  • Return slow movers — Suggests returning or removing no-sales items.

2. Promotion Insights

The Promotion Insights tab analyzes how your promotions are performing during the selected date range.

Top 3 and Least Redeemed Promotions

The top section displays two groups of cards:

  • Your Top 3 Redeemed Promotions (left, blue header) — Shows your three most-redeemed promos, each displaying the promo ID, type badge (e.g., "MixMatch"), promo name, total redemptions, and dollar amount.
  • Least Redeemed Promotions (right, blue header) — Shows your bottom 2 promotions by redemption count, helping you identify underperforming deals.

Charts

Below the promo cards, two charts visualize redemption trends:

  • Top 7 Promotion Redemptions Breakdown (pie chart) — A color-coded breakdown of your top 7 promotions by share of total redemptions.
  • Day-wise Promotion Redemptions (line chart) — A daily trend line showing total redemption volume over the selected period.

3. Market Basket Insights

The Market Basket Insights tab reveals which items your customers tend to purchase together. This has two sub-tabs:

Top Selling Item Basket

This view has two panels side by side:

  • Selling Items (left panel, orange header) — Lists your top-selling items with their transaction count, quantity, and total sales. Click on any item to see its associations.
  • Frequently Bought With (right panel, teal header) — Shows which other items are most frequently purchased alongside the selected item. Each card displays the item name, UPC, transactions together, and a confidence percentage.
Tip: Use "Frequently Bought With" data to plan product placement. If customers often buy pizza slices and citrus drinks together, consider placing them near each other or bundling them in a promotion.

Frequent Combo Basket

This sub-tab displays a grid of Frequent Combo cards. Each card shows:

  • A pair of items frequently purchased together
  • Transactions Together — How many times both items appeared in the same transaction
  • Probability Item 1 → Item 2 — The likelihood that a customer buying Item 1 will also buy Item 2
  • Probability Item 2 → Item 1 — The reverse probability

4. Fuel

The Fuel tab provides a comprehensive view of your fuel sales performance with period-over-period comparisons.

Fuel Grade Filter

At the top, a multi-select filter lets you choose which fuel grades to include (e.g., UNLD, PLUS, PREM, Diesel). All grades are selected by default.

Fuel Sales Overview

A collapsible card shows four time-period comparison cards side by side:

Period Card Compares Against
Yesterdayvs Day Before
Last 7 Daysvs Previous 7 Days
MTD (Month to Date)vs PMTD (Previous Month to Date)
Last Monthvs P2M (Two Months Ago)

Each period card displays three KPIs:

  • Gallons — Total fuel volume sold
  • Sales — Total dollar revenue
  • Avg PPG — Average price per gallon

Color-coded delta badges at the bottom show the change: green (up) for increases and red (down) for decreases vs. the comparison period.

Compare Fuel Sales Across Date Ranges

Below the overview, select two custom date ranges (Range A and Range B) and click Compare for a side-by-side comparison with Overview and Detail tabs.

Frequently Asked Questions
