What are Loyalty Deals?
Loyalty deals are manufacturer-funded promotions that require a customer loyalty ID or phone number at the pinpad to activate the discount. These deals are typically Altria-funded and reward customers who opt into loyalty programs.
Where to Find Loyalty Deals
Loyalty deals appear in two places:
- Altria Pricing → Loyalty tab — For Altria-specific loyalty deals that sync automatically
- Promotions → Loyalty tab — For all store specific loyalty promotions.
Key Fields
- Receipt Desc - The text which will be shown on the paper receipt during sale.
- Quantity -quantity to trigger the deal
- Value- The loyalty discount to apply when the min. qty. criteria is met
- Date Range — When the loyalty deal is active
- Deal Name — Name of the loyalty promotion
- Manufacturer — Which manufacturer funds the deal
- Discount Amount — The per-unit or per-transaction discount
How Loyalty Deals Work at the POS
- The customer purchases a qualifying loyalty item
- The POS prompts for a loyalty ID or phone number on the pinpad
- The customer enters their credentials
- The discount is automatically applied to the transaction
⚠ Note: Loyalty deals are the only deal type that requires customer interaction at the POS. All other deal types (Buy Down, Multipack, Combo, Mix Match) are applied automatically without any customer input.
FAQ
What happens if the customer doesn't enter a loyalty ID?
If the customer skips the loyalty prompt or doesn't have a loyalty ID, the deal will not apply and the full price will be charged. The transaction will be flagged in the scan data dashboard as a missed loyalty opportunity/ lower loyalty utilization rate.
Can I create custom loyalty deals?
Altria loyalty deals are synced automatically. For custom loyalty promotions, use the Promotions → Loyalty tab.
