Using Live Data for Operational Decisions

Live data provides a real-time view of all transactions occurring at the store. It enables operational decisions by offering insights into store activities with a maximum delay of seven minutes between the transaction and its appearance in the live data feed.


1. Login & View the Live Data Page

  • Log in to your account using your credentials.

  • Click on the "Live Data" option in the left-hand menu.

  • It will give you real-time data of the store


2. Date and Time Selection

  • Users can select a specific date range to view transactions, such as from the day before yesterday until today.


  • Options are available to switch between calendar days and business days:

    • Business Day Option: Displays data from the previous business day close till current time. You can also switch between different business days


3. Event Types

Live data categorizes transactions and events into the following types:

  • Sale Events: Displays successful sale transactions.

  • Other Events:  Used for transactions such as Till Open, Till Close, Till Audit and Clock In/Out from the POS.

  • Financial Events: Covers payouts and payments.

  • Void Events: Tracks products scanned but not purchased and the sale was voided..

  • Refund Events: Shows refunded transactions.


4. Camera Integration (Optional)

  • Stores with camera analytics feature can view live video feeds corresponding to specific transactions.

  • This integration offers visual monitoring during voids, refunds, or other critical events.


5. Breakdowns and Filters

  • Department Breakdown: Displays all transactions grouped by department (e.g., grocery, fuel).

  • Transaction Type Filters:

    • Inside Sales: Transactions completed inside the store. You will see a cart icon for this

    • Outside Fuel Sales: Fuel-only transactions. You will see fuel icon for this.

    • Combined Sales: Transactions involving both fuel and in-store purchases.

  • Cashier Filter: Enables filtering transactions by specific cashiers.


6. Transaction Details

Each transaction includes the following details:

  • Payment method (e.g., cash, card).

  • Total amount and taxes.

  • Transaction ID for lookup.

  • Date and time of the transaction.

  • No Scan Tag: Indicates open sales without scanned items.

    • Example: A cashier enters $0.89 manually under a grocery department key

Users can download transaction receipts for future reference.


7. Summary Statistics

A summary of key metrics for the selected date range is displayed at the top:

  • Total transactions.

  • Fuel transactions (total gallons sold).

  • Total merchandise sales.

  • Promotion dollars, if applicable.


8. Store Switching

  • Users can switch between stores from the top-left menu for multi-location management.


Applications

  • Monitor real-time sales and trends.

  • Identify anomalies like refunds, voids, or open sales.

  • Analyze cashier performance and event-specific transactions.

  • Analyze sales by department and peak hours to optimize inventory and staffing


This live data feature provides operational transparency, making it a powerful tool for decision-making and performance optimization.
