Performing Bulk Updates in the Price Book
The Bulk Update feature in the Price Book is designed to simplify the process of simultaneously modifying various parameters for multiple products. This function allows businesses to efficiently manage their inventory and pricing by enabling bulk changes to item attributes such as departments, prices, quantities, and more.
1. Accessing
the Manage Items Page:
- Log in to your account using your credentials.
- Once logged in, Navigate to the left column of
the application and click "Price Book." A dropdown will appear.
- Select Manage Items Option Under Price Book.
2. Filter out the items using Advanced Search:
Expanding Advanced
Search reveals a series of dropdowns, each tailored to help you filter down to
the items you want to Bulk update.
Start by finding products using 'department' or any other available options
in the advanced search. After filtering the items, select those you wish to
update in bulk.
3. Selecting
Items:
- To update multiple items, use the 'Select All' checkbox (or) Select specific
items individually. Once the items are selected, click 'Bulk Update' to
proceed.
4. Initiate
Bulk Update:
After
selecting the desired items, proceed by clicking the "Bulk Update"
button. This will initiate the bulk update process.
Now, you
need to select the type of data you wish to update for the selected items.
5. Select
Stores to apply:
Choose your desired store from the dropdown list under 'Select Stores to
apply for'
6. Choosing
Data to Update:
Click on 'Update Data for' to view
options like Department, Current Inventory, Selling Price, among others. Choose
the option that suits your requirements. Note that updating 'Item Level' parameters,
including department, units of measure, units in a case and price group, affect all stores in
your company for the selected items. And, updating 'Store Level' parameters, such as Buying cost, selling price, inventory, price by margin and price by fixed amount are applied only to the selected stores.
Enter the updated data in the corresponding fields and click 'Update'. A
confirmation popup will appear once the details have been successfully updated.
8. Reviewing
changes:
Return to the 'Manage Items' page to see your updates. For a detailed view
of an item's changes, click 'Edit' in the 'Actions' column.
